Friday was super intense. I got home, walked the dog, ate...then slept. I know, "Rob, you're so hardcore," no need to say it. Okay, so it sucks for a Friday night but hey, Saturday night was pretty fucking sweet.

So Saturday during the day was spent mostly at the Wastemount library to do my homework because I don't have good Internet in the cubes. At around seven I met up with my little bitch and we went into many stores randomly. It was good times, lots of love, lots of talk. And I know she's going to read this, so, I love you, so shut it. Either way, seeing as she had to get home earlier than usual, due to parental issues, I brought her to the metro, and we unfortunately parted ways.

So it was around 9:15pm so I had to find something to do until ten...because that's when Marcus got off work. So let's see, I went to Subway because I was kind of hungry. Once I got there, there was a "putain" there. A very interesting and revealing woman. Very intense. So I bought my sub and left. Ate along the way back to the Paramount and upon arriving I just waited upstairs. While waiting I saw Phil, the wicked awesome little musician. What a kid. So yeah, Marcus hurried his ass up and then we had to wait for Alyssa. So she got there and we got to the D.I.Y. Turbo Haus. We got there in time to see the starting of Marshall Law. They were pretty good, and they were my second best picture taken. It's the one I posted with the blog. The other really good ones I have are of Nick and Alex from Trigger Effect. Either way, they weren't bad at all, good old punks.
Then came Trigger Effect, another good show, very very enthusiastic. It was some tight shit, and I have to admit, I like where they're going. They've got what it takes, they just need a bit more organization. Last night they were in top form, and it worked out great...though Alex looked like he was going to have a fucking heart attack when he finished, it's a small room and it's damn hot.

Next up, was Vicious Cycle. And holy shit, these guys were something. I mean, they were like a Minor Threat style, but their function was something. The vocalist sported funky sunglasses, a hat and a purple tee-shirt, it was funny. They are also the only fuckers that are putting out 7"s and fucking cassettes, now that is classy. I respect that shit, and it was pretty tight.

Just as a side-note, but fuck all of you who went to Snoop Dog, you made the street smell like intense weed. I mean fucking intense weed. It was nasty. And you also all fucked me over when I wanted to ask a cab to come get me, they said no because of your crap. I was across the street, and I hope you guys were interrupted by us. Either way, Turbo Haus was the shit last night. The re-decorating was wicked.

As for trivia, what tests do you people have this week? And is popcorn awesome or is it awesome?

Cheers,

Rob

A bomb in every city; A hole in every head

Ah, another Friday, another evening of interesting shenanigans. I'd been stoked all week for this Friday because there were two very nice shows to see. At 8:15-ish, I found myself outside of Saints Showroom Bar, a nice little joint where a guy I know, the all-mighty Phil, was playing. Phil has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. From what I understood, he hadn't played a show in almost a year, and he pulled this gig off very nicely. You can listen to his solo project, My Biggest Line, here. I picked up a few demos of Phils, and I'm quite glad I did, it's a very nice CD. Hopefully the video filmed will be posted soon on youtube...when it is I'll give you all the URL.

Now, most of you know that there was also a show for Trigger Effect and Madeline. But, of course, complications were to pop up.

So while driving from Phils gig to Trigger Effects, Marco gets a call from his "friend" Alyssa. (Note: Marcus, if I mispelled her name, let me know.) She had recently adopted Alex' dog, Prince, whom I'd known since I'd moved from Ottawa to Montréal. Either way, Prince was eating her roommates poodle, so we had to find another place for the dog to stay. We try calling Alex, call his folks, then call Alex, and then wait for the call of truth. Finally, after a little while of waiting for a plan, we bring Prince back to Alex' place. That made for a good hour spent. We then made our way to St. Denis and made it just in time for Trigger Effect' "Point of View." That's my favourite song. You can check them out here.

The band after that was Tora Tora. They seemed to have had mic problems. Madeline did too apparently. Sucks 'cause from the back of the bar you could here the vocals pretty well but from up-front, the amps just over-powered the mic. A little annoyed that the vocalist gave shit to the sound guy, there was nothing to do, the sound was at the maximum it could possibly be put at. Sucks, but c'est la vie, it's only one show. In general it was pretty good. Looking forward to more encounters.

So in general my weekend was good. Went to check out some cameras yesterday with Tom and his dad and that ended being a little eye-opener. Then, at the last minute, in a flash, I called Tom for the Habs game and boy, did we fuck those Sabers hard...at the end I mean. But yeah, good day yesterday. Now I must study for Histoire and write a damned speech for English. Damn QAIS and all their horse-shit. Oh well, it's better than doing nothing I suppose.

Trivia bitch! For my pure entertainment of course. Do any of you ever think of blowing something up? I mean, don't conspire to blow up anything monumental, and hopefully nothing living. Or do you rather hug something to death? Answers! Confusion! Away!

Cheers,
Rob

I might be the king of the Delta Blues

Fuck yes, first blog of the year you fucking bastards! I know you're all saying, "But Rob, it's already half-way through January!" Well I don't give a diddly-FUCK. 'Cause it's 2007 and the Bye-bye sucked balls. But hey, you can't have everything in the world.

Okay, so when New Years comes around these past two years, I've developped a wicked awesome ritual: Six whole fucking hours of Iron Chef: America. People, the Food channel is the shit! Fucking addictive. But here's the jist of it. There are these chefs known as the Iron Chefs who are world-class chefs and shit. Random challengers come in and they battle food by making five dishes for three judges. What's really awesome is there's always random secret ingredients. So you get real random stuff: From leek to sweet peas; From marsh crab to Shinook. So check it out, some wicked shit yo.

My Nano kicks all your iPod's asses just because it's pink.

So Rob's gotten into his little GlassJAw and Thursday thing again. Since I don't have my big desktop computer, I don't even have anywhere near half my music. But now I've downloaded LimeWire and I'm going download crazy. Got "Full Collapse" by Thursday, beautiful album. Also got "Worship and Tribute" by GlassJAw, freaking amazing band. I've also downloaded some Haste the Day whom are a Christian band...but the breakdowns are really awesome.

You know what really pushes my motherfucking buttons? It's when I leave the computer for a while and I get MSN convos and stuff and people start saying stuff that I'd respond to if I were there. I mean, sure, I don't usually say "brb" I just kind of leave, but give me a fucking break. The worst part is when people say "whatever." I hate that word with a flaming passion when it's used in that attitude kind of way. Venting, the reason for blogging.

Aside from that, I'm just listening to some Protest the Hero here, talking to my girlfriend (who knows I win) and her kid friend. Reading "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole, fucking hilarious. I have to admit, when I heard that Toole killed himself I was a little weary about reading it, but it's amazing. The vocabulary is incredible, the characters all have their own little "je ne sais quoi," and the whole idea to it is just so simple. The metaphors on modern society in here are so well depicted by Toole it's just fucking great.

Fuck, what else can I write? I aced my math quiz and I'm looking at acing the next chem quiz on Friday. Oh shit, speaking of Friday, another jam space show for Trigger Effect, Toro Toro, Fayne and Madeline. Before that it's a trip to the Saints bar for Rock Out Africa. Good times. Then Johnny Truant on February 2nd...I need them details bad. If anyone knows, please comment it. All I know is that it's at some sketchy-ass bar.

Oh yeah, Hellsing OVA. It was really not too shabby. The quality was freaking amazing, but I only got the standard edition, so no special features. The voice actors aren't too bad, I mean, I recognize a few voices, but still, s'good stuff. I need to check out the 3rd on youtube. Ah youtube is fucking sweet people, fucking sweet.

Another thing for this year people: Some fellow bloggers and I are looking to start a podcast. No real theme yet, but it'll be a parody kind of thing. We are all looking forward to putting them out soon. Maybe the March break will be a good time to start really working them out. I don't know if that was enough for you guys, but enjoy.

Ah! Trivia bitch: "What was the best gift you got for Christmas/Chanuka?" Or "what is your dream job?" Looking forward to it.

PS - This fucking blog won't let me add fucking pictures.

Cheers yo,
Rob

Happy Holidays

It's the day after Christmas and all through the streets, people were bussling, like kittens in heat. Yes my friends, Christmas passed, and I hope everyone had a good one. I know I did...in most ways. My sister bought me a nice scarf and my folks got me a pink iPod nano. Let me tell you, I like the fact that I don't have to change CDs in my CD-player ever again! Other than that, had my grandparents over for dinner and it was pretty good.

And by tomorrow, I'll have the new and improved Hellsing: Ultimate OVA DVD because it was on sale at HMV for half the price and I've got a gift card of $50 to spend bitches. This new version to the manga I adore is apparently packed with better quality animation, more depth on the actual story, and has, from what I heard, a shitload more blood and gore than ever before. I'm looking very forward to having the first volume to watch. I've seen the subbed version of the first two volumes, but I'm curious about the English version...trailer I saw featured some pretty big names in the seiyuu world.

So right now, it's 10:15pm on December 26th, and I have to admit, todays Boxing Day did not impress me. It was nothing compared to Florida's Boxing Day. There were no big sales today. Except Best Buy I think. I saw a reportage on the news and apparently there were many, many, many Québecers lines up to buy stuff. Big sale item sounded like TVs...and I don't blame them, those things are fucking expensive.

So New Years is coming up everybody. A lot of you might be thinking: "Could this possibly be Rob's trivia?" Well, it is for you few who read my blog, it is. I doubt anyone will respond until later because of the holidays, but here it is: "What are you/did you do(ing) for New Years eve/New Years?" and of course, if you don't like that question, then here's another one: "Who is a fan of the romantic theme?"

There are my questions, this is my finale. I hope for all the best to everyone in the New Year and I hope that my blog will be capable of getting around a bit more in the next year. I'll write up a small review on the DVD when I get it, and I'll have my thoughts lined up for my first of the year posting! To all, a happy holiday, and a great New Year.

Cheers,
Rob

Broken glass and deafness

Title is refering to last night and how fucking deaf I was when I got home. Let me give you the low-down as I listen to some Hollywood Undead. For those of you who don't know, I was totally hell-bent on going to a party/show last night like all week. Who went? I did, duh. But for those of you who didn't, that sucks, 'cause it was fucking amazing. Good good times, enjoyed it immensely. I'll give you my entire Saturday now.

So let's begin, got up at six or so, started moving some stuff inside my room. Then me and my dad spent the day going from my old house to my new house with random crap that the movers didn't bring 'cause they were way too fragile. So we did that all day, then I ate at around...euh, seven I guess and called Marco. By 7:30pm I was at his house while he was sleeping...a little awkward, but who gives, the fucker works too hard. So 'round eight we left, he got pizza, and we got all the way to "Espace à louer," otherwise known as the TURBOhaus. As soon as we got there we know it was going to be fucking wicked, everyone had a beer, the place was full of smoke and it was a small kind of room. Here's the line-up that went down with my little opinion.

First to play at like 9:30pm was Madeline, the band I missed last week on Friday night. At first you wouldn't think they were good because of the bad recordings they've got. I also would never have guessed that I knew the members, was pretty funny. So yeah, they started, and it was fucking wicked. Joey, the bassist, had really good bass lines for the songs and was completely into it, which I really admire. He really impressed me. Jay pulled off some sick solo while putting the guitar on his back and shit. Intense. Brian was half-drunk, but it's all good. The vocalist wasn't too shabby either. He started turning a little purple during the third song, but yeah, fucking wicked nonetheless. As for the drummer, he was really really wicked. Pierced nipples, I also think he threw a show. So funny. All's to say that they were really good. I regret having missed them last Friday.

I just noticed that it took me like 40 minutes to write just my second paragraph because of fucking Facebook/MSN/Myspace. Goddamn man. Okay, back to what I was writing.

Next up was a band from Oreilia (if that's how you spell it) who played a wicked ass set. I was hugely impressed. They had their shit together and the guitarist was amazing. Not just that, but the vocalist was great. He could scream and sing melodicaly! That's major bonus points in Rob's books. The bassist was a plucker, but that didn't stop him from laying down some major stuff. The drummer had a wicked do, half shaved, then long on one side, bizarre. Me and Brian (guitarist for Madeline) talked with them outside for a while waiting for Trigger Effect to come on.

When Trigger Effect did come on, it was fucking fun. Alex' guitar strap came off three times I think. Everyone was singing along. Some cracktard sprayed beer on everyone, which is a waste, but it was funny. They were really good. The vocalist had everyone under control and went at it real nicely. They are the one's people should thank for the turbo lingo that's going around. The TURBOhaus is their jam space, good fun place. By this time, almost everyone was drunk enough to see Fayne.

Ah man, Fayne, with Joe the singer. Holy crap, they are so fucking amazing these guys. Joe is a fucking beast. Jumping on the people, breaking it down while he's on live. What a guy. Fucking monster. He has a great scream, not so good with the melody, but his enthusiasm makes up for it. He was the life of the show. The other band members are fucking wicked too. Their music is so well made. Just fits perfectly.

Fuck, I just realized I mixed up the order, Trigger Effect came after Fayne. Screw it, I'm too lazy.

Next were The Gorgeous, everyone's fucking heroes. Everyone was singing along. I mean everyone. Everyone moshed. Then from there it was just so intense. Jordan, the vocalist, took a sip of a Heineken and smashed it on the floor. Hehe, everyone started slipping up and shit. Ugh, I would see those guys every weekend if I could. We poured vodka on Jordan too, hardcore stuff. Then I think the guitarist spat and almost got me in the face, but seeing as I've got super ninja reflex skills, I dodged the saliva. When they finished with one of my favourite songs, "Shy Guys," they crowd surfed the guitarist. Great times, great times.

So those are the bands. But as for the party part. I grabbed a few asses for fun, chilled with Marco and Alex a lot. Talked quite a bit with Josh. Oh speaking of Josh, had a good moment with him right before The Gorgeous, went a bit like this:

Me: "Ah man, all this B.O. makes me feel like a real woman."
Josh: "Man. You mean man, not woman!"
Me: "...did I say woman again? Fucking cross-dressers! Stop it!"

It was funny at the moment. Another thing that was funny is when a guy lubed Jay real nicely. Jay is the guitarist for Madeline. Anyways, was an awesome night, and I feel bad for everyone who wasn't there. Sucks for you.

Now I've got a big week ahead of me in school and tomorrow I'm going to write that post I said I'd write during class or something. So that's Rob's Saturday night. And here's the trivia: What did you do on your Saturday night? And how bad did the Selwyn dance suck?

Cheers,
Rob

Pull up a noose, let's talk

I didn't get to my post yet. Aside from that, I can only say that you should check back to my DeviantART page in a few days 'cause I've got another drawing coming. I plan on drawing one more tonight to make it two by the end of the week at least. School is a damn bitch. Exams coming up and I'm just hoping that I'll be ready in time. But that's a subject I'll spend a lot of time on in like three weeks.

Last night Tom, Evren, Stephanie and I went to try and see the new Bond movie...and it was sold out at every time. Which really sucks 'cause we were stuck to watch Borat. Never in my life have I seen a movie exploit so much. Village sued Borat, drunk college guys sued Borat, the church must have sued Borat, and the list goes on most likely. There were very crude parts which I did enjoy, I won't lie. I feel that the whole Pamela Anderson speal is smart though. Portrays what any man would want: A caucasian, american, big bust, blond and blue-eyed woman. Very interesting portrait...I hope they actually aimed for that.

Another thing I did last night was buy the new album, "When Your Heart Starts Beating," from +44. I love the album. It's really nice and mellow. The songs are all very in tune to the idea of the album. A lot of people say that it's very very very emo...but I don't even care about that in this case. The song "No It Isn't" is very understandable from interviews I've read. If you want, there are a bunch circulating on the net...just google it. Best songs on the album in my opinion are: Baby Come On, Little Death, 155, Cliffdiving, Interlude, Weatherman, No It Isn't (Versions 1 & 2), and Make You Smile (Album and acoustic version). All these songs just really clicked for me. I got the pink version of the album too. I'm thinking of buying the blue and green one too...just for the support.

What else to say? Oh yeah, I started a DeviantART account. I'm very excited about getting back into drawing and posting some literal works. Scanned and photoshopped my newest drawing at Evren's yesterday with him and Tom and it looks pretty sweet. It'll be posted, and I'll update my links section with my DeviantART page.

Aside from that, that's all that's really new. I'm starting a cough though, which sucks. My throat hurts so much. And water isn't helping so I'm going to switch to some more acidic things, bahaha, jokes. I'm going to now try finding a torrent for PhotoShop because I really really want it. Going to talk to the pops about a scanner too.

Oh, The Gorgeous next Friday. I really really want to go. And I probably will because it's a Friday night. Shananana, go me, go me. I'm looking forward to it, love those guys, great tunes.

Trivia: What's the most memorable trip you ever made? Or, what's better and why?: FaceBook or MySpace?

Cheers,
Rob

The New Pink

So as I said, I'd post a picture of my bass. Life's been hectic with all that's going on. Lots of packing and preperation for the new home and a lot of planning for my future projects. Right now I'm in Histoire class...seperatism because the province just needed to promote. She's easily irratated this teacher, oh well. Now, here is what's going on in the Rob World.
So school is going well for the most-part, Math is still a pain in the ass, but there's always going to be that kind of thing eh? Handed in my English critical essay, ended up being pretty good. He said it's at least an 80% mark...but I was hoping for more than just an 80-ish mark. I'll post a good paragraph or two if it gets a good mark.

Rowing...I haven't rowed in a good two weeks which kind of sucks. It's gotten cold and with school and x-country, time is hard to spare.

I'm going to start applying to a few Ontario school so I'm looking forward to that. That's a big fucking map that the teacher is holding up...I mean fucking big and fucking colourful. This class is really getting boring, really quickly. Americans learn their history too I guess, but why does Quebec have to be so damn different from the world? I'm not going to get into that though, might anger a few people.

Big news, I'll most likely be going to Japan in the summer for about a month. I'd live with a family for that time and would probably have some liberty to explore the country on my own. I'm really looking forward to it. I only stay in Montréal for like another year and then I'm out for a long time to get my English BA. Once I get my BA I'm going to travel to teach English around the world. Sounds pretty funky eh?

Anyways...what else is new? Oh yeah! New bass bitch. Beautiful Fender Jazz Bass with precision and jazz pick-ups! Stratocaster input jack, all black, no pick guard, active fret board, matching headstock, oh so pretty. Plays fucking incredibly, the strings are super sweet. I'll post a picture on the next post...which'll be in like twenty minutes or so. Now trivia!

If you could create any course you wanted, what would it be? Or: If you could be any animal, person or object, what would you be?

Cheers,
Rob

High from a wrecking ball, to view a fashion show

Damn, I'm really happy with the response I got for the song question...kind of surprised. But hey, s'all good. I'm taking these long breaks from blogging, I know, and I'm sorry. Rowing's been tough for the past little while since I'm trying to squeeze as much time as I can on the water...Winter's a'coming. Let's see, I believe I might be okay for tomorrow's Physics test, holy shit. It's a miracle. What else? Oh yeah, I love Ian Mackaye from Minor Threat, best Vynil LP I own.

Band. I'm getting there everyone, placed an e-mail to a buddy of mine and I think things are going to fall into place pretty nicely. If we can, I'm thinking of playing a show in the spring since we'll have all Winter...if we end up getting off the ground. I've got a bunch of songs written and have started choosing a few that might be fun to play. Hang on tight, MySpace might come back into style for me people.

Life is fun. It sucks when you have people nagging you, but hey, life's great. I hope everyone is having a wonderful life, no matter what, be happy. I love this bold feature, it's snazzy. That's all for tonight.

What is your favourite pass time and what's your favourite colour? Fuck you, I'll ask whatever question I want.

Cheers,
Rob

Mailbox Arson

Ah man, parents anniversary, so I'm stuck babysitting ce soir. I don't really mind though. Bought the new Alexisonfire and I'm blasting it while they're out for dinner. The CD's not too bad...it makes me think of their first album which is by far the best they've ever done. I enjoy all the songs really, except maybe "You Burn First," it's one of those: "Why is this song on this album" type of song. It's just Wade singing which is really different...'cause it's usually George screaming and Dallas singing. But, things are how they are, eh? I love Alexisonfire no matter what.

I love water, and I'm pretty sure water loves me!

Random, but hey, fuck you, it's the Rob blog. In other news, I've finished writing another song. It's a very pissed off song in the way it's written...but I was pissed. Either way, I've got an idea of how I want it to be played...but I kind of need a band to play with. I'll get around to that sometime in the future, I just need a drummer and I'll be set to go...I'd like a bassist and another guitarist though, that'd be nice.

Anyone here a drummer? I can use your drum-beating skills. I'll bake you muffins in exchange for your services and if possible a gig. If possible.

What more to write? I might as well end this one on a trivia question! I won't say trivia bonus because it brings back those miserable history tests to my head. Hmm...let's see. Oh, here's one: What song means the most to you and why? Don't be shy about the song, the importance is that it means something to you so share it with everyone, right here, on the Rob Blog. I'm now going to grab another bottle of water and blast some more Alexis. "We are the sound, we don't belong, so raise up your hands, and sing along."

Cheers,
Rob

The distance is stream-lined

Holy crap...I'm really getting sloppy here. Well, either way, here I am, and I'm writing. Go me. I just got to school and I'm listening to some Thrice. Their older album though, the new one is...different and all, I like the old Thrice. Anyways.

So this weekend me and my family celebrated my sisters birthday. On Saturday we all woke up and gave her presents. After breakfast she had to hit the swimming pool at the Y for lessons, so I went to the gym. Believe it or not, most people who use the ergometers at that gym are going to hurt themselves. So what did Rob do you ask? He got a number to start a rowing clinic at the Westmount Y. A-duh! I'm pretty with that idea, have to call the coordinator of the weight room sometime this week.

Later that day, my sisters friend came over, an overall good kid. She showed me the new-school "awkward turtle." It was pretty wicked. Then I whooped them in video games...as any older sibling can do. Then we all went out to that Japanese restaurant on Greene Avenue, Kashima. It was fun, had my healthy dose of eel while everyone tried to figure out what the long strips of meat were in my plate. And thus, that evening ended and my sisters friend slept at our place. The next morning I made crêpes, and she got the fuck out of my house. I say that in the most unannoyed way possible.

Yesterday I had the day off, so what did I do? I got up at 2:30am for no reason...then when 5:00am came around I got dressed and went out to take the metro to the bassin. It was a quiet ride. When I got there I took an ergometer test and hit my best score yet: 7:38. I was happy with myself, then I went out and rowed on the water. Rosanne showed up, so we kind of raced...I beat her. Afterwards, she, and Gabrielle and Izabelle all had school. So I was a nice guy and metroed and walked all the way there. It was a fun with a packed up metro and cigarettes early in the morning...people shouldn't be allowed to smoke that early. It was fun anyhow. Now I've been forced into seeing their play on...Friday the 13th. Be afraid bitch, be afraid, bags of sand are going to fall on Rob! No, I'll live.

Anyways, I think that's good for a new post. I'll probably post again during the day. Big shows coming up, got to take out my happy somewhere, bahaha.

Cheers,
Rob

Hey, Ho, Let's Go!

Finally posting, hooray! To start, Head of the Rideau went smoothly. The drive there was really good and calm. When we got there we immediately got changed and got ready to row...the girls were disqualified (because of Kasia's tardiness) but re-entered in a double race. Then the Hooton's and Derek showed up for our four and we got the show on the road. It was a good race, but I don't believe we're up to par yet. It wasn't horrible, but it could have been better...and we have our time to improve. After that I stayed around with everyone to watch the girl's four which did pretty well. Afterwards, me, Kasia and Jess hopped into the Val-mobile and set off for home...after a big fucking hot chocolate of course. Got home at like...eight I think? Was a fucking sweet day. Trevor also fell off the trailer while attempting to jump on it...all of us at the bassin continue to spread the legend.

I just finished listening to "A Letter to Elise" by The Cure and now Scar Tissue by the Peppers. Great mix CD I made, it's fucking snazzy. Now what else is new?

Tom and I have gotten much closer, he now slaps MY ass. It was bold on his part since he's the woman of the relationship and all...but that's okay, it's good to be a little naughty. Next is him getting his nipples pierced for me; The ultimate sign of love. Evren is coming up too Tom, watch out. Threesome time!

Graham is a MySpace whore...no other words can describe him.

Oh! I'm going to finish editing my song tonight, like final edit. It's good and all, but I haven't transcribed the last modifications to my computer file of it. It is by far the best I've written, yeah, sure it's depressing, but it's fucking good. Oh, and Frank...please don't use my "cheers" slogan. I like to think of it as my little thing.

Now, trivia! Hmm...if you had a shitty pop-punk band that was just starting, what would you call it? I'd like to hear some random shit like: "Robots Ate My Grandma." Or something like that you know? Ah man, that post made me feel better, regular posting is coming back biatches, Big Rob in tha house!

EDIT -- Evren is right, the last two pics of me in this blog were taken by him. He's right to have the credit for them 'cause they're good pictures. Because you guys depend too much on your power when you should think of efficiency! But that's okay. After today everything should work out. After training, I'm coaching the girls for their four-boat, which means more back problems.

Now, my French class is very quiet because it's writing time. You hear keyboards clicking all over and maybe even hear a grasshopper fly out of someones pants. Yeah, weird stuff like that happens, it's true. It's like the panda-biting human. Stuff like that happens ladies and gentlemen. Since I have a chemistry quiz coming up, I think I'm going to study a bit. Question of the day is: "Where would you a piercing, and why?" or if that doesn't please you: "Would you wear a thong to school? For how much?"

Cheers,
Rob

Put a jock-strap in your mouth

This post is to agree with Louis. The assembly this morning was too weak. It's all nice that Bob Gainey came to speak, got nothing against him. But the whole "school-spirit" to me seems like a bunch of ass-kissing. "Oh yeah, we love our school so much even though it's a rich, snobby and overly jock loving school in the dead-center of Westmount." Not that I hate my school or anything, but I'm there for an education. I'm certainly not there for promotional purposes, I am NOT a movie trailer. As an ambassador, I like letting parents know whether or not it's worth to send their kid to private school. If it's for elemantary school, I don't really figure it a great idea because of its confinement. When the kid gets to high school and has to switch schools for a public school, it's a little different. For high school it's a good idea though, well, I find. They know what's coming and they get an advantage for the government exams and such because of the variety of topics covered. But yeah, those are my views. The "Spirit Day" seems to only be a promotional event because the school needs more money than Michael Jackson.

Cheers,
Rob

Pop-tart whores

Today was a good day. For the most part I guess. The morning progressed slowly but gave me inspiration for some new music and it seems to be pretty nice. Student awareness was a revelation, Evren apparently hates me. So he'll spam my blog with hate-comments at somepoint soon. But hey, shit happens, eh?

In other news, I met up with my buddy Marco getting back from school. Was good seeing him and unfortunately, seems The Gorgeous were playing tonight...and I didn't know. Oh well, c'est la vie. But we talked for a while which was cool 'cause I haven't seen him in a while...and he's slimmer which is all good. Then we parted ways and I got down to business: Homework. Not fucking fun people, not fucking fun! But it's got to be done right? Yes, yes it does. I was just thinking something, but I lost it.

Now listening to Everlong by Foo Fighters. Love the song, great lyrics, great feel to it. Practically done my homework which is also cool, but still leaves no big topic for the blog.

Actually, I'm curious as to know everybody who views this blog's favourite drink. It need not be alcoholic, and I'd be glad if it wasn't. After that, what's your favourite food and dessert to accompany the drink. If you guys don't like that question, then here's another one: Can you pass the blog around to everyone you know? Then all my bloggin' buddies will get known a little more 'cause blogging's fucking rad. Oh shit! Working tomorrow biatch, go me, go pay-day! Rowing from like three to five and then kicking some ass with coaching people. Come to think of it, my back will get even worse, ahaha. Tom, don't fucking punch me when I have a back problem, it's not cool man, not cool at all. You don't see me slapping your head 'cause half of its mass is gone, do you? Anyhow, love you anyways man, and Evren, let those "I-hate-you-Rob" (in a bitchy voice) comments rip.

Cheers,
Rob

Random House

So here I am, once again, with the weather. It's currently dark out, thank you. Now onto more important subjects. Four-boats working for the weekend and I'm coaching two boats for effing Rideau. Eat that. In a plate. A little plate. But yeah, really happy. Got to find a coxswain and lifts though. I'll get to that tonight. Sometime tonight.

So school was mediocre, we started the day with an archeologist girl who wasn't too bad. She knew what she was talking about and was interesting for the most-part. Then English, yes, favourite class, raise the roof. An easy test and then Spanish. Spanish was pretty simple too, like, extremely simple. Then...physics...a class I don't like too much. Anyways.

Then there was rowing. Four-boat was okay, we need to work on balance big time. I'm really glad that Vince is coaching us though, he's fucking wicked as a coach...except when he coaches me to coach a boat like today...that gets annoying. But still, a swell guy. So I coached the girls four-boat after I got out of the water, and am glad to have MY guys to row with. They weren't horrible, the girls that is, but they need a shitload of work...which is why I'm coaching them again on Friday. S'all good. I'm getting paid, so hooray.

Now I'm going to finish some homework and eat, 'cause I'm effing hungry. I didn't hear of any interesting news today...except! The guy who bit a panda 'cause the panda bit him. I have to admit, that's pretty funny. You don't see a guy bite a panda every day. Anyhow, I'll post before bed.

Cheers,
Rob

Lungs on the stage

So I'm in Histoire, but I really want to write about this. There's this band I listen to called Dir en Grey and in the most part they're really good. The real thing I dig in this band is the vocalist. The vocalist, Kyo, is one of the most passionate people I've ever seen. He abandoned high school at the age of fifteen to start a music career and participated in a bunch of different bands. In the end, and to this present day, Kyo rests in Dir en Grey. Dir en Grey contains four of the original five members of La:Sadie, an earlier but well achieving band. Anyhow, back to topic.

Kyo, who's actual name is Tooru Nishimura, is a visual kei vocalist. His voice, to me, is a great expressive one, like that of Ruki from The gazettE. Many of you may wonder, why Japanese Visual Kei music? Because I enjoy the sound, the way they play their instruments are so much better than any American band could and the mood of the songs are great. Now, what I really find great about Kyo is his stage presence. I've seen a bunch of Dir en Grey lives on the Internet, and all of them are fucking crazy!

Kyo's presence is a crazy little Japanese guy. He jumps all over the place, screams like mad and even self-mutilates himself. Okay, well not self-mutilating like cutting off a finger or something. His signature stuff is punching his own face until he bleeds, scratching his chest until there are obvious red welts, and "fish-hooking." Fish-hooking, for those of you who don't know is when someone puts their hand in their mouth and rips at the interior of the mouth until it bleeds freely. Sick, I know, but he shows such passion on stage that it just doesn't matter to me. Kyo screams on stage most of the time and has fainted in both Austin, Texas and Hiroshima, Japan. In Hiroshima though, he didn't wake up until forty-five minutes later. As the vocalist, Kyo writes the lyrics for Dir en Grey's songs. Most of his songs are about very perverse subjects. Suicides, paraphilia, rape, torture, so on and so forth. But the thing is that there's always a part in the song that moods down. In their newest album they've toned down quite a bit, and I'd say that KODOU is their best song yet. Anyways, that's what I have to say for now. This guy is fucking crazy but oh so passionate. I'll post some other stuff later but for now I've got to English!

Cheers,
Rob

Chemistry and a bottle of Jack Daniels

No, I'm not drinking in class, but the teach is making reference to alcoholic beverages. We are currently learning about an alcoholic fire, made with ethanol. Quite interesting actually. Histoire next, I'll write more then. Just wanted to let you all know that I am somewhat bored and that I need a sugar lift. For the past two nights I've been drinking like a litre of juice before going to bed...well, after I get up at like 1:15am. Either way, got some funny stories going from Mr. Downey's mouth. Really funny alcohol and snowball burning stories. Anyways, back to class.

Cheers,
Rob

When you're right, you're right

Ah man, got to love Atreyu. Always gets me in such a good mood, so soothing. Okay, soothing for me and probably super loud for some of the readers here. Got to also love this fucking sweet picture of The Clash (picture was used for the London Calling album cover). Let's see, what to write, what to write. I guess I may just start off and talk about my day! So, I get up and guess what? My shower busts on me! So I finally get a shower, get dressed and even with the mishap...I get one of the most delicious breakfasts ever. A blue-berry muffin! I fucking LOVE blue-berry muffins! Keep that in mind, Rob likes blue-berry muffins. Anyways, so I got to school and finished my physics homework because I really didn't get it, but heck, what DO I get these days? Then there was Histoire. Oh, what a great course. Just kidding, I don't like it much, but it's really not too hard to get the hang of. Then French, one of the classes I look forward to all day, then Spanish and Japanese...all good language courses.

Now, when I got home I started listening to my music and now have yet to finish my math homework...and any other possible homework I may have left out. So let's see...what's on my playlist for ce soir...dum-dee-dum-dee-doo. Some "I Am Ghost", Hollywood Undead, He Is Legend, The Bled, Alexisonfire and...some Red Jumpsuit Apparatus why not? Now that that's set-up, next topic.

Abortions! I want to see who is pro-life and pro-abortion. Every time I've had these discussions, it seems women are pro-abortion and men are pro-life, but there's the obvious reason for that. As many topics, it's all freaking grey these days, so spread your opinion on The Rob Blog! I'm curious as to hear all the opinions on the net, depending how far this blog actually goes. By the way, I will not allow any racial slurs or homophobic commentary on comments if they come along, I believe in a free world where you can be any race and have any sexual orientation (leaving out animals and plants) so that's all. I'll probably post something else tomorrow morning.

Cheers,
Rob

"You got a death wish, Johnny Truant?"

No, I don't know a Johnny Truant, I just like the song by The Fall Of Troy. If my school is capable of finishing the effing ergometer tests this week, I'm going to take out the four with the top scores/experience and rip up the water. We'll most likely do a coxed-four...meaning we need a shrimp who can yell in the end of the boat. Who though? I certainly don't know. But, we WILL find a shrimp. Me and Dave are probably doing a double at Rideau anyways. A good 4.5km ride ladies and gentlemen.

I've noticed that there aren't that many comments coming in. Which means you people are either lazy, or don't actually look at my site. And that hurts. But, if you don't want to read MY blog, check my links section full of friends.

Since I love music so much, I'm going to talk about what I was just listening to. Right now I'm listening to Mikoto who are wicked awesome, but before I was listening to "The gazettE." This band's Japanese, but I mean, it's great punk music...in Japanese. The genre these guys are known for is called "Visual Kei," which in our language translates to Glam Rock (Kiss among many). But let me tell you, the costumes they pull off don't really change the quality of their music which, as I've come to notice about all Japanese bands, is very complex. The riffs and chords are really really well-written. The lyrics though, when translated are pretty diverse and all over the place, but that's okay. Aside from "The gazettE" there are other bands like: Alice Nine, Antic Café, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, Dué le Quartz, Dir en Grey (they've become more mainstream, no costumes really...but same badass attitude.), etc.

What else should I write about? Oh yeah, everyone, Jimi Hendrix' death-date is coming up really soon. It's on Monday September 18th so during that day, give a small moment of silence for the musical genius, I know he'd appreciate it.

If anyone has suggestions for a gift to give a going-to-be-eleven-year old girl let me know. The kid's similar to me since she lives in the same household and all. I'm at a bit of a loss. Anyhow, that was a somewhat long post, hope it wasn't boring everyone.

Cheers,
Rob

Super-glue your butt to a chair

Do as the title says if you want...might be funny to videotape someone dancing with a chair stuck to their ass. These LA badasses started their MySpace boom in June '06 and after a week became the number one music group on www.myspace.com, bringing down big title bands like Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down, From First To Last, etc. After only one hour of being online, these guys had ten people viewing their profile and in one day became one thousand! I don't listen to much hip-hop but I saw them on a persons profile from my myspace (in my links) and decided to check it out. When I did, the first song I played was "My Black Dahlia" and it remains my favourite song by them. The feel of the song is so nice and it's got great vibe. The beat goes well with the mood of the music and while being hip-hop/rap genre vocals, the lyrics pertain a kind of punk idea to it. I love this band a lot, I mean, I'm not one for rap/hip-hop, but when it's made so well and so carefully it's just a down-right "fuck yes." If anyone wants I can send them their music, or check out their myspace: www.myspace.com/hollywoodundead. This band just blew me away when I listened to them and I'm hoping they come up with more stuff. In one song I really like, "Knife Called Lust", there's a part where there's some screamo...and I'm all for screamo being that kind of vocalist and since I like that kind of music.

What else should I add? Oh yeah, never take a Blizzard from DQ, they are evil people, effing evil. Packed with mass amounts of chocolate and blaaaaah. I like their milkshakes...that's about it. I've officially finished editing my newest song and it sounds so much better than my little pop-punk generic songs...it's like adding a white guy to the ghetto...some attitude beat-down ladies a gentlemen. Anyways, rented "Basic Instinct: 2" everyone, going to check that out now. I'll write a little post before I hit the sack.

Cheers,
Rob

Ogrish.com and a sausage biscuit

I just finished reading The Montréal Gazette about Gill. His friend talked about him as being a pretty good guy gone sour in the past little while. He mentioned a site that, to me, seemed all too disturbing. This site is www.ogrish.com, a sick site where pictures/videos show gruesome beheadings, suicides, murders, etc. I don't really like the idea of the site, but in some senses it provides in depth looks on some stories...not pleasant ones anyhow. Some sick shit ladies and gentlemen. Onto happier subjects, non?

I had a good breakfast so far, and am currently listening to Anberlin. I don't know them very well, but they have a good sound to them. Today seems like a studying kind of day for the most part, but tomorrow I've got my rowing, bah-zing! OH! And everybody, my buddy Graham's started a new blog (http://grahe.blogspot.com/) so check it out. My sister's friends mother was teaching at Dawson during the shooting and she says that Gill was already injured going into the college. Either in the leg or arm...but I'd imagine the leg seeing as he was capable of using a firearm. He was taking refuge, not aiming for the school and its students. He was probably going to go on a street rampage but when shot, took cover somewhere and decided to cause chaos there instead. Effed up stuff people. Police were already on the scene at the time with another case. I'm not trying to be too oppurtunistic, but at this point, the big thing in the M.T.L. is this Dawson shooting. As soon as I heard about this thing I called up my buddy who goes there and was glad to hear that he hadn't left to go yet. He had just seen the stuff on the news. I was talking to my buddy from the Montréal Rowing Club and he had ALL the channels he could get on in the office. But man! I was so shocked when I heard this yesterday. I mean, it's so unexpected to hear something like this happen...especially somewhere like Dawson. Drugs and petty crime, yeah, sure, good possibility and all...but shootings? So as a first blog, I wanted to explore a little on this (while I listen to some Mobile).

So this guy, Kimveer Gill, what was his deal? The guy was twenty-five and I doubt he was a student going to Dawson...he wasn't pissed off about his grades, that's for sure. To have stormed into a college, randomly during the day, and start shooting the place up is way too fucked for words on the spot. This guy, in my opinion (yes, mine, this IS my blog), had a major issue. He MAY have been subject to bullying, but in some senses I wouldn't understand how this could be. He was twenty-five and doesn't seem to be going to school. Maybe he got fucked over on a job he needed or something, I don't know. But anyhow, when I got into school, the whole boom was the 50-plus pictures the guy had with his big-honking gun. All this was found on his website (there's also talk of a vampirefreaks.com account...it might very well be the same thing.) with many, and I mean many, depressant things. There was talk about a survey he took with one question asking how the individual taking the survey would like to die. I've taken the same survey, or something similar, but like many I'm sure, my answer was NOT to die anytime soon. I mean, life's as good as you make it to be, you need to put the effort. But HIS (Gill's) answer was: "Like Romeo & Juliet -- or in a hail of bullets." Or something similar enough to that. That in my opinion is el fucké up. Then I heard about a virtual tombstone or something saying: "Lived fast, died young. Left a mangled corpse." That's a bit much for me to understand. He also had some sick little note about video games, how you have to die at somepoint. To despise so many things is not comprehensible. One should embrace the life they have and make the best out of it.

I'm currently writing this blog and trying to get on Gill's vampirefreaks.com page just so I can view a bit of what I've heard about so far. Now it's telling me I got to make an account, so ladies and gentlemen, for your viewing pleasure I'm doing so. I'm currently talking to another blogger whom I know. There's apparenlty a lengthly list of video games on Gill's profile. Many of these games are extremely violent ones and MAY have been part of the reason to his stunt. This is what I picked up on his journal a little before he went to Dawson:

"Woke up 30 minutes ago. I hate having to wait for my contact lens cases to air dry, cuz' they're just sitting on my desk now, looking messy and all.

Lemme go see what's to eat..........

eggs and toast. yum.

Mood:Crazy
Music:Megadeth - A Tout le Monde"

Now I've gotten onto his profile...ladies and gentlemen, I hope you don't take as many surveys as he did. The "how to die question" is as follows (his answer that is):"Like Romeo and Juliet -or- In a hail of gunfire" I've just witnessed the infamous gravestone on his profile. This man had a problem, but I just can't understand what brought it to be. His likes include many different weapons, massacres, and trenchcoats, stuff like that. Many violent games, many gory movies, and many (MANY) dislikes. On one survey ("Personality Disorder Test") he scored very high for: Paranoïa, schizotypal, borderline (no clue what it is), and avoidant. Just a survey though, doesn't have any real meaning. I really don't know what else to write about his profile...it's really disturbing to me. I'm viewing his gallery and I'm seeing that a lot of people have made comments about the incident, all of which are quite anger-driven (rightfully so). Unfortunately, there are some homophobic answers that I can cope with, but still, just 'cause he shot up the school doesn't mean he's a homosexual...back to topic. His pictures are average myspace-genre pictures from what I've seen so far, but still...the gun pictures are disturbing. There's one picture of a box, which I suppose may contain his armory. Some people asked if the person he shot was in there, humourously. I'm really no longer interested in viewing this guys page...I admit it's just creeping me out a bit. If anyone wishes to view it just go on Google and search for "fatality666". Instead on clicking on the link, click "cached" for the vampirefreaks.com site link. Anyhow, moving on.

This guy was angry about something, picked Dawson, and let completely loose. Why with a gun? I certainly have no clue. I'm really pissed off about the whole incident seeing as people near me were affected and I hope everything calms down soon. I also hope that anyone affected is pulling through well. This type of thing shouldn't happen anywhere, especially in Canada. The girl killed was 20-years old and I send my condolences to the parents/relatives. I hope my friends friend is also doing well. A lengthly first-post, I know, but it's all about Dawson, it's worth a read.

Cheers,
Rob
